Inside A Class

What a Typical Class Looks Like.

  1. 1

    Line Up and Bow In

Every class opens with students lining up and bowing in, a two-second routine that signals the shift from outside life to focused training. It is one reason arriving a few minutes early matters.

  2. 2

    Warm-Up

Each class opens with a structured warm-up: movement drills, mobility, and light conditioning appropriate to the age group. For the youngest kids this includes movement games; for adults it is more technique-focused.

  3. 3

    Technique Instruction

The instructor introduces one to three related techniques, demonstrated in full and broken down step by step. For new students this is the slowest, most detailed part of class, and questions are welcome.

  4. 4

    Drilling with a Partner

Students pair up and drill the technique to build muscle memory while the instructor circulates and corrects. New students are paired with experienced partners who guide them patiently.

  5. 5

    Live Application

Intermediate and advanced students apply the technique in controlled live rolling. New students participate at reduced resistance under close supervision, only when they are ready.

  6. 6

    Cool-Down and Bow Out

The final minutes are for cooling down and a short debrief on what the class worked on. Students bow out, and the instructor checks in with new students to answer questions and give early feedback.

Before You Book

Common Questions About Classes.

What are the current class times?

Our weekly class schedule is posted on this page, grouped by program. Times can shift seasonally, so call or text us at (469) 465-9426 to confirm the current times for your program and book your first class.

How often should a student come per week?

Two to three classes per week is the standard for meaningful progress. One class per week keeps a student in the routine but slows advancement, since too much technique fades between sessions. Students who can only make one class a week are still welcome and will still improve.

Can I watch a class before signing up?

Yes, and we encourage it. Walk in during business hours, tell the front desk you would like to observe, and we will show you to the viewing area and let you know when the next relevant class begins. No appointment needed, no pressure to sign up.

What if I miss a class?

Missed classes can generally be made up by attending an equivalent class the same week. For an extended absence due to illness, injury, or travel, contact the front desk and we will work with you on a hold or credit.

When are belt promotions?

Belts are earned, not scheduled. When a student demonstrates the technique, attitude, and consistency the next rank requires, the instructor advances them. Two students who started the same day might be promoted at different times.
